Arrenius: Top IFC honors nationally

By Jonathan D. Colon, Delta Eta (Lynn University) 2010, the Fraternity’s Associate Director of Chapter Development

“Respecting traditions requires us to respect the traditions of other chapters,” offered Brother Bradyn (Brady) C. Arrenius, Delta Lambda (Monmouth College) 2026.

This attitude of parity among fraternity friends has led to the Interfraternity Council President’s great success in the role. Brother Arrenius was honored earlier this year as a best IFC President in North America from 2024.

“Zeta Beta Tau, at its core, inherently promotes interfraternalism,” he said. “ZBT is a fraternity created to give Jewish students a home and a sense of brotherhood, after they had been seemingly stripped of that right due to sectarian practices. Since 1954, ZBT has been known for being an accepting brotherhood. Each of the four values in our Credo has its own way of displaying interfraternalism,” too.

His award recognizes IFC Presidents whose leadership has been a driving force for growth, positive change and interfraternalism on their campus. The North American Interfraternity Conference’s IFC Awards Program aims to recognize and celebrate outstanding IFC communities, student leaders and campus partners positively impacting and advancing the fraternal experience. Zeta Beta Tau is a Governing Council leadership organization among NIC members. Brother Arrenius was one of just eight IFC presidents earning this recognition.

He said he believes actions speak louder than words, and he prioritized breaking stereotypes and rumors.

“Instead of looking at each chapter as its own island, isolated from other fraternities on campus, I looked at each as part of a flourishing archipelago with bridges that decrease the distance between chapters. We are fraternity men, and the benefits of working together and creating a brotherhood within the IFC would reap more results and success than trying to work against each other,” he said.

Monmouth Assistant Director of Fraternity and Sorority Life Cullen Marshall told the college’s news department that he felt this sense of impact and authenticity is where Brady shines.

“Brady never lets his own chapter affiliation get in the way of what is right or fair,” he said. “He’s always looking out for the smallest chapters on campus, making sure that decisions regarding recruitment and housing benefit them just as much as anyone else. He’s shown a dedication to interfraternalism and equity that few other students have been able to do.” Read the full article from MC here.

Brother Arrenius is a junior majoring in political science and international relations from Bartlett, Illinois. In the Spring 2025 semester, he studied abroad in Uruguay. Before being elected IFC President, he was Vice President for Public Relations on the IFC. He has served Delta Lambda as Academic Chairman and Standards Director.

His advice for other brothers seeking campus leadership roles:

“Get uncomfortable, but trust your brothers. Run for a position, make mistakes, do something you never would’ve thought possible or that you wouldn’t have done a month, year, or five years ago, and apply for everything. This is how growth and success happen. never be complacent.”
