Mu, Nu and Phi (and more): Welcome back!
Issue: Fall 2025

Zeta Beta Tau always strives to reach more and more college students each year, while standing by the traditions and history of the world’s first Jewish Fraternity. This year’s new groups have an especially strong connection to heritage and history.
ZBT is proud to share more on the eight new chapters started in Fall 2025 year.

It’s been an eventful year back on campus for the Mu Chapter. The chapter held their first philanthropy, Get on the Ball. ZBT had the second highest GPA average in the Interfraternity Council last semester as well.
The new chapter was featured in a great article in student media. Read it here.
“The fact that we don’t have (pledging or hazing) is a big selling point for a lot of the students I’ve talked to,” Hawkins said. “Students don’t want to be hazed, they don’t want to go through that pledgeship, so rushing ZBT or becoming a part of ZBT is something that really does interest them.” Brady Hawkins, a sophomore majoring in marketing and the Recruitment Director for the chapter, told the newspaper.
The brothers are immediately connecting with other chapters, including assisting in initiating the newer chapter at Kennesaw State in September and co-hosting a brotherhood retreat with Alpha Pi at UNC-Chapel Hill this fall.
Phi (Michigan)
These brothers celebrate Shabbat every Friday, either at Hillel or Chabad, and have a strong presence in the campus Jewish community. Chapter leaders are working with Gift of Life to have their first swab collection as a service event in the spring. As a new group on a huge campus, their priority for now is visibility and recruitment.
Fun Brotherhood story: Founding Fathers from the new chapters at Michigan and Ohio State met at an AIPAC student conference. Samuel T. Safirstein, Phi 2028, and Aaron B. Logsdon, Nu (Ohio State) 2029, represented ZBT well int his community – and shared a Founding Father bonding experience!
Nu (Ohio State)
This chapter has an incredible partnership with Hillel. They are working to secure dates to have Get on the Ball and a Gift of Life swab drive in the spring, and recruitment dates and events are set for the chapter’s first formal recruitment period. More than 1,300 potential new brothers are signed up for IFC recruitment this semester. New chapter leaders will be at ZBT’s spring programs, like Dover Days.

This is ZBT’s first time hosting a chapter at KSU, and we are excited. The new brothers were immediately involved in philanthropic events and the fraternity community. They hosted a good size tailgate, and have had NFL watch parties and fun like bowling.
KSU is one of the fastest growing universities in Georgia. All the new brothers are from in-state, growing a long tradition of ZBT brothers in the Atlanta area.
Loyola Chicago
ZBT also is new to the Loyola community. The growing Brotherhood is connecting with sororities to raise their presence on campus, such as co-hosting a mental health event in October. They are paired with the Gamma Chapter at Northwestern as a “mentor” chapter, and hosted a joint Initiation ceremony this fall. Spring plans for recruitment events are in place. Brothers are into sports and casual brotherhood events and have made strides in connecting with ZBT alumni in Chicago.
