Introducing ZBT National Housing

ZBT National Housing, as the newest entity of the ZBT family, is working hard to further ZBT’s mission by identifying, cultivating and supporting housing that supplements a comprehensive fraternity experience. ZBT National Housing seeks to provide chapters with the necessary resources to sustain and acquire, where appropriate, chapter housing solutions.

Matthew I. Tobe, Beta Alpha Theta (Colorado) 2006 serves as the Executive Director of ZBT National Housing.  His experience as Assistant Executive Director of the Fraternity and serving on the Supreme Council has made his transition to ZBT Housing an easy one.  Brother Tobe is determined to ensure brothers are successful in running their chapter houses by using the available educational resources for undergraduate brothers and housing corporations. In addition, ZBT National Housing can offer assistance in operating chapter houses and helping brothers acquire and/or manage chapter houses.

ZBT National Housing recently hired Jessica C. Ricks. She recently earned her B.S in Health and Community Wellness from the University of West Georgia. She is a Sigma Kappa alumna and is passionate about helping the Greek Life community. She has taken charge in helping to create standard operating procedures and creating documents for ZBT National Housing’s newly launched website. She has also started organizing historical documents on houses and assisting with financial management.

With the recent name change from NPEF to ZBT National Housing, Matthew and Jessica have developed new branding for ZBT National Housing as well as created the website zbthousing.org  The website offers free resources for students, housing corporations, and advisors. Feel free to reach out to ZBT National Housing and let them know what additional resources you would like to see on their website!

Some examples of what ZBT National Housing can and is doing include helping Zeta Beta Tau’s Epsilon Mu Chapter at the University of Kansas obtain a new house by meeting with the students and parents to help the Chapter reach their fundraising goal. ZBT National Housing also helped the Chapter create leases, fill the house for the past and upcoming year, and helps the Chapter budget to ensure they are successful in maintaining their home.

With the Sigma Chapter at Tulane University, ZBT National Housing  helped the Chapter with property management, getting their financials organized, and helped the Chapter renegotiate their lease.

And finally, with the Gamma Mu Chapter at Memphis University, ZBT National Housing helped the Chapter with maintenance repairs to ensure their home is functioning at its best.

As ZBT National Housing continues to grow they hope to assist house corporations that may be struggling to maintain their house whether it is simply offering advice or providing resources.

ZBT National Housing would like to thank our current board for the assistance and guidance they have offered the staff. Our board has continued to grow with leaders in various fields and is seeking alumni with interest in serving on the housing board. Those who are interested, please reach out to Matthew Tobe at 317-334-1898 or via email at mtobe@zbthousing.org for more information.
