Celebrating the Alpha Omicron centennial
Issue: Spring 2026
By Laurence A. Bolotin, Ed.D, CAE, Alpha Zeta (University of Florida) 2001, the Fraternity’s Interim CEO
The Alpha Omicron Chapter of Zeta Beta Tau at University of Arizona celebrated a remarkable milestone this spring with a highly successful centennial weekend April 17 to19, marking 100 years of brotherhood, leadership and impact. The weekend brought together more than 100 alumni from many generations and undergraduate brothers from across the country to reconnect, celebrate shared experiences, and honor the lasting legacy of the chapter.
The celebration featured a full weekend of meaningful engagement, including an open house at the chapter facility, alumni dinners and outings, campus tours led by current undergraduate brothers, and a culminating Centennial Dinner held at the Dunlap Club inside Arizona Football Stadium where more alumni were recognized as part of the Hall of Fame for the chapter. The structure of the weekend intentionally created opportunities for brothers from every era to reconnect not only with one another, but with the current chapter and the future of Alpha Omicron.
What made the event especially impactful was the visible demonstration of “Brotherhood for a Lifetime.” Alumni spanning multiple decades returned to Tucson to share stories, reconnect with lifelong friends, mentor younger brothers, and celebrate the enduring influence ZBT has had on their personal and professional lives. The weekend reflected the strength of the Alpha Omicron network and showcased the chapter’s continued importance both to the University of Arizona community and to the broader ZBT brotherhood.
The Centennial also highlighted the power of volunteer leadership and alumni engagement. Era chairs and volunteers from nearly every generation worked together to organize the weekend, demonstrating the deep pride and commitment brothers continue to have toward Alpha Omicron long after graduation. The collaboration between alumni leaders, undergraduate members, and ZBT International helped create an experience that honored the chapter’s rich history while building excitement for its next century.
Most importantly, the event reinforced the ongoing relevance of an inclusive Jewish fraternity experience on college campuses today; one rooted in brotherhood, leadership, heritage, and lifelong connection. As Alpha Omicron begins its second century, the Centennial Weekend served not only as a celebration of the past, but as a powerful statement about the future of ZBT and the enduring bonds that unite its brothers across generations.
