While fraternity and sorority chapters rightly focus on supporting their own members and operations, the broader Greek community offers opportunities that extend far beyond any single organization. Zeta Beta Tau embraces that larger vision, encouraging connection and collaboration across campus. Brothers like Danai Sukduang are helping lead that effort at the University of Denver.
Danai Sukduang, Iota (University of Denver) 2027, is wrapping up his junior year after semesters of work bringing together the Greek community at DU. He has taken on a wide range of leadership responsibilities, serving as Chapter President for Iota, Vice President of Recruitment and Judicial Affairs for IFC, and interning in the FSL office.
Recognizing that chapters grow when the community grows, Danai focused first on strengthening IFC formal recruitment. He identified a lack of awareness as a key barrier and emphasized the need for stronger publicity and outreach. As part of that effort, he launched a new pre-recruitment event, Canes on Campus Green, designed to bring chapters and prospective members together. The goal, as he explains, is to “provide the opportunity to inform people about Greek life and get them signed up for recruitment.”

Utilizing a model used in Panhellenic recruitment, Danai redesigned the “Bro Gamma” program at DU to implement recruitment counselors that were trained on national recruitment best practices and who were active throughout Fall recruitment. He developed the framework, wrote the training curriculum, led sessions, and oversaw execution. The program received strong feedback and contributed to measurable recruitment success.
“In 2025 a higher percentage of men who rushed received a bid than any year since covid at 73.22%,” says Danai. He added, “In the surveys I sent out, 100% of PNMs said they would participate in recruitment again and felt knowledgeable about the process.”
The impact of this work extended beyond campus. The program earned the Level 1 Innovation in Recruitment Award at the Association of Fraternal Leadership & Values (AFLV) Conference in January 2026. At the same conference, Danai placed second in the Order of Omega Case Study competition, where participants had 24 hours to analyze complex issues facing the Greek community and propose solutions.
Alongside his IFC responsibilities, Danai continued addressing challenges within his own chapter while preparing for an expansion-style restart in Fall 2026. He is also interning with the Fraternity and Sorority Life office, applying his experience in recruitment and programming to a broader campus context. His primary project, this past fall, was a comprehensive recruitment analysis for IFC, which he hopes to have published.
“I am currently applying this analysis and data projections to aid in developing the bro gamma program, and progress on key recruitment metrics that I identified,” he says.
Danai also prioritized building relationships across councils, working with Panhellenic and Multicultural Greek organizations to better understand divisions and improve communication. Through this work, he became a key connector and a central point of contact for cross-council collaboration. These efforts are already producing results, including plans for joint training between Panhellenic Rho Gammas and IFC Bro Gammas in the next recruitment cycle. He also created cross-council group chats to connect chapter officers with their counterparts and council leadership.
As a physics major with a concentration in biophysics, and minoring in mathematics and business administration, Danai’s level of involvement may seem unexpected, but his motivation is straightforward: “I just enjoy doing this kind of work.”
With plans to attend law school, he credits his experiences in IFC and FSL with helping him develop skills in goal setting, policy, and organizational leadership. His analytical background has also allowed him to approach recruitment through data and strategy, strengthening his impact on community-building efforts.
What began as an unfamiliar opportunity has become a meaningful and rewarding experience. Through his work, Danai has built connections across campus, gained new perspectives, and helped strengthen Greek life at the University of Denver—while preparing himself for the path ahead.
